2026 Disability Benefits

If you can't work because you're sick or injured, disability benefits can help you keep up with day-to-day bills. T-Mobile provides short term disability and the base 50% long term disability plan, at no cost to you. You are eligible for these plans, and the long term disability buy-up plans, if selected, on the first of the month coinciding with or following 180 days of continuous active employment.

Short Term Disability

After a one-week unpaid waiting period, Short Term Disability benefits will replace 85% of your pay for weeks 2 through 26.

Long Term Disability

After a 26-week waiting period, you may be eligible for Long Term Disability (LTD) benefits. T-Mobile provides LTD coverage at 50% of your regular monthly rate of pay.

For added protection, additional LTD coverage is available: Buy up options of 60% or 66 2/3% can be selected during the benefits enrollment period. Any increase in your coverage will require the completion of a health questionnaire.

The cost to buy-up to a higher level of LTD coverage is based on your age and salary. The rates below are per $100 of coverage, per pay period. No need to do the math - the enrollment tool will calculate the cost for you!

About taxes: LTD payments are tax-free, as you pay taxes on the coverage premiums paid by T-Mobile on your bi-weekly paycheck.
