Before we jump into the details, there are a few important things to get out of the way.

  • Your Health & Welfare benefits start on the first day of the month after you've worked for 30 days. For example, if you're hired on October 15 your benefits will start on December 1. The exception is company-paid life insurance as that begins on your first day.
  • Health & Welfare benefits are available to Regular Full and Part-Time employees. Eligibility details can be found in the Summary Plan Description. Additional information can also be referenced on each program page of the Benefits Hub.
  • It takes a few days for our records to update once you start, so wait until about "day five" on the job to try to enroll. Your enrollment window ends on your Benefits Effective Date, so don't miss out.
  • You can add eligible dependents to your coverage including a spouse, a domestic partner (same- or opposite-sex), a dependent child under the age of 26 (biological, adopted, stepchild, child of a domestic partner, a child for whom you're a legal guardian), or a child over age 26 if they are disabled and qualify for coverage. All enrolled dependents will go through a dependent verification process to determine eligibility for coverage.
