Key Features of COBRA
- You pay the full cost of coverage monthly. While employed, T-Mobile was paying up to 80% of your premiums.
- Coverage begins when your first payment is received, and coverage is retroactive to the date you lost coverage. There will be no gap in coverage once your first payment is received.
- You can normally continue health benefits for up to 18 months (and in some cases up to 36 months), depending on your qualifying event.
- You may keep your current health benefits and doctors for yourself and your covered dependents.
- A COBRA notice with details will be mailed within 14 days of your Separation
- You must enroll in COBRA within 60 days of the date you lose coverage or the date on the COBRA Enrollment Notice, whichever is later.
- If you are enrolled in a Health Care Flexible Spending Account, you may continue to participate through the end of the current calendar year. Please contact the Benefits Center if you wish to continue this benefit through COBRA.
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending cannot be continued through COBRA.
- If enrolled in an HSA - T-Mobile will no longer contribute to your HSA once enrolled in COBRA
- If enrolled in an HRA – T-Mobile will continue to fund your HRA annually should you remain in this plan while on COBRA.
